The objective of the Gurukulam
To preserve the tradition of Vedas, śāstras and the practices like Yoga, Yāga etc. in their authentic form
To perpetuate the Gurukula tradition of learning in the current times
To cultivate social outlook and spiritual insight among the youth
To explore and harness the power of Samskrit language both as a medium of knowledge transfer and communication
Furthering these causes, VVG is confidently continuing its journey for the last 22 years with more than 110 students graduating from the Gurukulam so far (2019). Recognising the unique value of the education these students receive in the Gurukulam and the tremendous influential potential they have, Gurukulam now seeks to address their aspiration to continue their engagements in the academic front while deepening their knowledge in the śāstric realm along with adequate training in and exposure to modern and contemporary scholarship and pedagogy in all relevant areas of śāstrās through the setting up of Veda Vijnana Shodha Samsthanam a dedicated Centre for Śāstra and Contemporary Studies.

Mission and Core Purpose
- Which will create and nurture academic and thought leaders of tomorrow rooted Bhāratīya wisdom and yet conversant with the needs of modern and contemporary times.
- Which will provide for the study of advanced texts in the śāstric tradition (Udgranthādhyayana) and set standards for assessments in traditional styles through various Sabhās.
- Which will offer on campus and online courses, programmes of varied durations and lengths on various topics, texts (both introductory and advanced) related to Vedic tradition, darśanās (especially Vedanta), Sanskrit Grammar & Linguistics, Literature, Yoga & Indian Psychology etc.
Aims & Objectives
Keeping the aforesaid vision, the Research Centre aims to -
Extract śāstradṛṣṭi from the respective śāstrās and present it in the light of modern knowledge and language.
Produce and publish literature (at both basic and advanced levels) that presents śāstrās in the light of contemporary thinking.
Offer PhD, MPhil, Diploma and Certificate programmes in relevant areas
Infuse śāstric ideas and ideals in public domain through conferences, seminars, talks etc.
Campus
The institution has a self-contained green ambiance with all necessary infrastructure providing for an academic block with dedicated
spaces for faculty, researchers and administrative staff, classrooms, seminar halls, a well-equipped library with subscription to
reputed journals and research scholars’ hostel.
